William Shakespeare, in Macbeth, might as well have been talking about “historian” David Barton when he wrote: "Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player That struts and frets his hour upon the stage And then is heard no more. It is a tale Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury Signifying nothing." Mr. Barton’s works of “history” have been widely discredited by even evangelical Christian scholars; his publisher pulled his most recent book out of embarrassment for all the errors and mis-statements it contained.
